Prior to his doctoral studies, he worked as a consultant at DTZ in Guangzhou where he was involved in the planning of real estate development, including town center regeneration, CBD development, brown field development, retail, residential, and mixed-use development. The focus of his work involved market analysis, designation of optimal industries, operational management, and financial advisory. His clients came from governments and real estate developers.
