Working Group Economic Geography

Welcome to the Economic Geography Working Group!

What we focus on:

 Our research focus
The dynamics of local and regional economic activitites in a global production
context trough the eyes of entrepreneurs, companies and institutions.

Our theoretical perspectives
A relational perspective, because economic actors do not act in isolation.
They are embedded in a social context and mutually affect each other.

An evolutionary perspective, because economic actors do not act without a history.
Their behaviour and decisions are preconditioned by the past.

An institutional perspective, because institutions and policy at several spatial levels
(from the local to the supranational) affect decisions of economic actors.

A practice orientated perspective, because actors constitute, reproduce and transform
the economy. Their everyday actions reveal forms of economic organization and exchange.
